This Will Have to Do

I think I’ll stop fiddling with this site. I have a working layout (albeit with bloated code since I’m reusing coding from a previous EE layout I made that was a lot more complicated), and the site seems to be functioning like it’s supposed to. That’s going to have to be enough, at least for now. I keep reminding myself that I don’t intend nor want graychalk.com to become anything extravagant or complicated. The last thing I want is to feel burned out from this site already. After all, I just want this domain to exist without any expectations placed upon it. Such an extreme opposite from most sites I’ve created in the past, but I guess I’m finding that particular difference very appealing. Eventually, I’d tweak or add stuff here to make it more to my liking… but I’m not going to do it now or all at once.

Really, I probably should be focusing more on updating colorfilter.net... it’s just that the site sorely needs a big (and possibly a complete) overhaul, including the big jump in EE version upgrade, and the thought of all that is so daunting because I’m not sure I have the time to throw myself into that deep deep end right now. Still, it has become the only site of mine that I care about, so I’m going to have to work on it soon either way.

But today? Today, I’m going to stop being anal and throw my perfectionism out the window. Time to let graychalk.com float online and go wherever it may. If, however, anyone spots a glitch or something not functioning correctly… please do let me know. I’m usually rather over-zealous in checking, testing, and then checking some more, but seeing how I’m being lazy, it’s very possible I’ve missed tons of glaring mistakes.
