Lenormand Reading: Stomach Problems

Posted on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at 12:26 am

Deck: Blue Owl - Lenormand
Spread: Sylvie's No-Layout

I have a general policy on reading health matters, so this is a bit unusual for me. The following reading is done mainly for practice and a general insight, plus a clear understanding that a visit to the doctor’s is needed.

My sister’s been having a serious case of diarrhea ever since she came home from work today. Nothing is staying in, including water, but she refuses to see the doctor and wants to wait the night out first even though she seems to be spending a majority of it in the bathroom. She has no idea what the problem might be except for the fact that her stomach had been hurting all day, so I decided to draw a few cards for some info in the meantime.

I’m using Sylvie Steinbach’s No-Layout style of reading, except instead of fanning, I’m just flipping from the top after cutting the deck. I chose 05 The Tree for my focus card.

Lenormand Reading: Me At This Time

Posted on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at 04:31 pm

Deck: Blue Owl - Lenormand
Spread: Sylvie's No-Layout

I spent a bit of time reading Sylvie’s Secrets of the Lenormand Oracle last night and decided to give her No-Layout style of reading a try. I should probably be starting out with daily draws or something, but I usually like to play with a new deck a little before I start handling them every day- like warming up, I suppose. :)

Anyhow, I thought I’d do a general-ish reading about me at this point in time… an outlook on what’s surrounding me and can be expected to come up soon. The focus card is the Lady, to represent myself:

17 Storks26 Book29 Lady10 Scythe12 Owls
The cards are 17 Storks + 26 Book + 29 Lady + 10 Scythe + 12 Birds

Intro Reading: My Lenormand Journey

Posted on Monday, March 16, 2009 at 11:40 pm

Deck: Blue Owl - Lenormand
Spread: General 3-Card Draw

Whenever I get a new tarot deck, I have a habit of doing a quick “intro” throw of cards to tell me a little about my relationship with said deck. It’s just something I do to sort of introduce myself to the new deck and vice versa… a little silly, I know! So after looking through the Lenormand cards and shuffling with them for a bit, I thought I’d do something similar with them. I decided to draw 3 cards as an overall outlook on my journey into the Lenormand- no real positions but with an intent to read them chronologically, like an actual journey.

Here’s what I got:

34 Fish21 Mountain16 Stars
The cards are: 34 Fish + 21 Mountain + 16 Stars

Got My First Lenormand Deck + Book!

Posted on Monday, March 16, 2009 at 09:26 pm

I had been wanting to try the Lenormand Oracle for a long time now but haven’t had the chance to get a deck for myself as it’s kind of difficult obtaining one where I live. Last week, I found that I could get the Blue Owl + Sylvie Steinbach’s book (The Secrets of the Lenormand Oracle) together for a fairly good price with shipping to my location so I jumped at the chance. I didn’t expect it to arrive this quickly though- only 6 days including the weekend! I was literally skipping when I saw the brown package sitting inside my mailbox. :D

Blue Owl
I have a little blue pouch for it too!

Discovering the Anna K. Tarot Deck

Posted on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 01:58 am

For years now, I had suggested to my sister every so often that she could consider picking up the Tarot. I often give her readings, and she had always shown a lot of interest in it but didn’t really have much confidence in being able to read. She’s what my family often joke as being hopelessly out of tune (both sides of my family have a history of women showing various “psychic” capabilities), even though I thought she could still give it a try if she was truly interested. So anyway, after a little reading session earlier and yet another push from me to learn the Tarot language, we decided to go on AT to browse the numerous decks… which, by the way, took hours because for every deck she liked, I went hunting around for sites that showed the cards of the whole deck.

We eventually narrowed it down to about 5 decks until I realized that all but one was either out of print or really hard to get a hold of. The remaining choice turned out to be a self-published deck called Anna K. (link leads to Aeclectic Tarot’s deck description page). Maybe it’s because I was really tired from all the deck hunting, but it didn’t particularly catch my attention. It looked interesting… but just didn’t immediately make me hone in on it. The important thing is my sister’s in love with it so then we found our way to her site where we could view all the cards… which of course spelt my doom because I only just recently told myself that I wasn’t going to buy any more tarot decks for a while (until maybe the end of the year).

Yes, I really want this deck too! I absolutely love the way she portrayed the cards- the ones that come to mind right now are 10 of Swords, 8 of Swords, and Judgment… but seriously, looking through the photos of her cards is like discovering one treasure after another. They’re so communicative and expressive- the type of deck that has a more real quality to the pictures and would be so easy to read. It’s been a long time since I had fallen this hard for a deck. You should all go take a look. In the meantime, I’ve got some serious thinking to do. If it was a mass-produced deck, I could always just wait and get it at the end of the year as I’ve promised myself… but Anna’s only got 500 decks printed and already, she’s been getting tons of orders from what I’m hearing at the AT forum. Oh, what to do!
