Tarot Reading: How About a Little Time Off?

Deck: Housewives Tarot
Spread: General 3-Card Draw

Yesterday, after drawing the Cross+Tree+Mice daily, I decided to ask the Housewives what I need to know or do at this time instead of doing a general daily.

The cards are Emperor + Hermit + Fool

I always find it a bit amusing whenever my cards make it a point to reiterate something I’m already aware of except I happen to also be ignoring it for one reason or another. It almost makes me want to roll my eyes with a Yeah, yeah, I know. Tell me something else already! whine. But I did ask what I need to know or do at this time, so I’ll be good, shut up, and perhaps try not to ignore the solemn advice. Though of course, the Housewives don’t really go the solemn route anyway- except it felt the need to throw me 3 Majors in a row. ;p

New Deck Reading: Housewives Tarot

Deck: Housewives Tarot

I got The Housewives Tarot a few months ago but, for various reasons, haven’t had the chance to truly sit down and spend some time with them until today- which is a real shame because I absolutely love this deck. (I’ll put together another post to talk about the deck soon.) For now, though, it’s time for another one of my “new deck” intro reading. :D

I usually use a spread with specific position/question assignments for this type of reading, but I thought I’d keep it loose like the one I did to ask about my Lenormand journey. So! Just a general 3-card draw, asking how my relationship with the Housewives deck would be like:

cardcardcard
The cards are 2 of Wands + King of Wands + 5 of Wands

I had to laugh the moment I took a good look at these three cards. Well, this deck definitely knows how to get right to the heart of the matter and in quite a practical sense too!

Daily Tarot: Things Put in Motion

Deck: Morgan Greer Tarot
Spread: General 3-Card Draw

After doing my daily Lenormand this morning, I decided to draw a few cards from my Morgan Greer to see how the cards correlate (if at all). I also wanted to see the bigger picture, which I felt the Tarot usually more able to give me than the Lenormand.

Daily Tarot: Reconciling the Differences

Posted on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at 11:01 pm

Deck: Morgan Greer Tarot
Spread: General 3-Card Draw

cardcardcard
The cards are Queen of Rods, 6 of Cups, Knight of Pentacles

Which am I? The Queen of Rods with her fiery, passionate nature… filled with her creative ideas, wanting to pursue these dreams and see her visions come to life? Or the Knight of Pentacles with his ever reliable self who diligently continues on the practical path to get things done in a nonsensical fashion, because he has obligations and he’s nothing short of responsible? It is, after all, the only proper way to be… isn’t it?

After the kind of mental self-beating I had yesterday, it really should come as no surprise that these were the cards I drew today. The split between my two inner selves have only become more prominent- the restlessness in me who desires so strongly to go chasing after my dreams and the more sensible side of me that’s demanding I stay put and keep things stable and safe.

It’s obvious as well, that my memories of those simpler days of the past has been featuring quite prominently in my mind. These nostalgic feelings and remembering what it was that I wanted out of my life have been both a wake-up call and my worst enemy in all this. Yet in some ways, as difficult as this stage might be for me, it is also something that I need to face.

So how can I make a choice between the two? I can’t and I don’t, as one is as much a part of me as the other. And though the 6 of Cups may be wreaking havoc in my self right now, I’m also recognizing the harmony between the boy and the girl in the card. Somehow, I need to find a way to reconcile the differences and find a balance within myself. Whether the Queen of Wands or the Knight of Pentacles, they can both be a strength in their own right after all…

When the Message Smacks You in the Face

Deck: Morgan Greer Tarot
Spread: Daily 3 - Overall-Inner-Outer

It’s 4:30am and I really should be sleeping, but I quite unexpectedly had a Tarot A-HA! moment in my daily reading that I just have to post before I finally call it a night (or morning). Earlier in the day, I pulled these cards for my daily draw…

19 Sun2 of Pentacles7 of Rods + 8 of Swords
Note: The middle card is drawn first, and the 3 cards together forms a triangle. The last is a “crowning” card to give an extra insight on today’s influence.
