After coming across Chanah’s Line of Nine layout, I thought I’d give it a run. The topic is work and what I can expect in related to my job within the time frame of 2 weeks and up to a maximum of 1 month. No focus card was chosen; I figured I’d let the cards tell me the main theme I can expect from my job. Here’s what I have:
11 Whip, 9 Bouquet, 14 Fox, 33 Key, 17 Storks, 21 Mountain, 13 Child, 22 Crossroad, 7 Snake
I’ll do an analysis first and then a summary of my thoughts and the situation as it currently stands at the end. I’m also not utilizing any past, present, future for this layout. Instead, I’m seeing the left side as underlying issues, cause, or things that may already be happening but I’m not yet aware of. Okay, here goes…
Having Storks appear for the main theme tells me that this is going to be about changes or some kind of transition at work, likely quite an important one (Key) but one that could either be difficult, slow, delayed, or all of the above (Mountain). With Fox falling next to the Key, I’m inclined to think something’s not as it seems or perhaps this change carries the influence of deception and lies. Child might be referring to a new beginning (perhaps a new project or direction) that would come as a result of the Stork’s changes, but it appears the Mountain in between is preventing it from happening smoothly.
Moving outwards, Whip+Bouquet could be some kind of a discussion or disagreement that ends up being a good thing. But again, with Fox coming after that, something could be amiss. Crossroad tells me there might be a split in direction or choice to be made, and with Snake following, it doesn’t look good… maybe a difficult choice or complications as a result. A lose-lose situation comes to mind. Again, Snake here is giving me the lies and deceit vibe that Fox did. Another way of looking at this might be to see Snake as a female co-worker and to have the choices related to her somehow.
Let’s see if I can narrow things down or obtain more insight via reflecting the cards. Key+Mountain seems to tell me that this complication or delay is inevitable at this point. Fox+Child is pointing towards a person who is not only lying and manipulative but also immature. Bouquet+Crossroad, on the other hand, makes me think of a positive opportunity opening up. Whip+Snake could be an argument or troublesome disagreement- perhaps with a woman if Snake is representing a person.
My Thoughts: Changes and transitions as the main theme certainly makes sense as it’s something that’s been going on in my department since December. At the very least, I hope Storks isn’t saying I’ll be transitioning out of this job entirely (AKA lose this job). In any case, this transition has also been moving really slowly with all sorts of difficulties as shown by the Mountain, which is also preventing us from launching a new project (Child) that is supposed to launch by now. I guess things will continue this way for a bit according to the cards. Fox+Child, I bet is talking about my manager. She’s definitely known for lying about many things and also for being manipulative, as well as ridiculously immature. I’m wondering if Snake is referring to her too. The overall message seems to fit, but I’ll have to wait and see if these all play out. Will update of course.
Update!
May 15, 2009: It’s well past the time frame I had set for this reading, so I thought it was about time for an update. As a side note- I’ve been surprised by the Lenormand lately, in that multiple meanings in one set of cards can all turn out as opposed to a “either this or that” type of thing. Really quite awesome. :D
As suspected, that Fox was my manager being deceitful, manipulative, immature, and a liar of the worst kind in a working environment. The terrible things she has been saying and doing all came to light during this time frame, and she was definitely the Key to that huge Mountain block preventing our new project from launching. In fact, I think she killed all the work we did for the past year. It has also affected me individually the most due to the nature of my position at the company, which is causing a sudden detour (Storks, Crossroad) in my job plus the added possibility that the company may be forced to let me go as an unfortunate casualty of these extra problematic changes caused by her misdoings. If Crossroad+Snake might be any indication of this, I’ve heard talk of her getting fired soon but for now, I think it was talking about something else (as explained below).
A week after I did this reading, my co-worker (my partner who’s based at the head office but we work closely together on the same things) told me that the problems she’s been having with our manager suddenly exploded recently (around the time I did this reading but I didn’t know this then) and she ended up in a huge argument with our manager. The incident blew up so big it ended up involving the higher up manager and also almost resulted in her leaving the company. BUT it all got resolved by the higher-up manager offering to have her work exclusively on leading a new portion of our project and then reporting to him directly. Needless to say, she’s happy that she is technically no longer working under my manager. Whips+Bouquet!
Along similar lines, Crossroad+Snake (especially when reflecting Whips+Bouquet) could be talking about the split she made from our project as a result. She’s no longer working as my partner since we’re doing different things now. In short, everything that was analyzed initially all matched up and some more within the designated time frame. Not only that, but the cards on the left side really did show the underlying causes, issues, and events that may have already been happening but that I was simply not aware of them at the time of reading.
