Lenormand Reading: Me At This Time

Deck: Blue Owl - Lenormand
Spread: Sylvie's No-Layout

I spent a bit of time reading Sylvie’s Secrets of the Lenormand Oracle last night and decided to give her No-Layout style of reading a try. I should probably be starting out with daily draws or something, but I usually like to play with a new deck a little before I start handling them every day- like warming up, I suppose. :)

Anyhow, I thought I’d do a general-ish reading about me at this point in time… an outlook on what’s surrounding me and can be expected to come up soon. The focus card is the Lady, to represent myself:

17 Storks26 Book29 Lady10 Scythe12 Owls
The cards are 17 Storks + 26 Book + 29 Lady + 10 Scythe + 12 Birds

I was initially a bit over-zealous and had 3 cards on each side of the Lady before I realized that I only needed 2 with the five-card style of layout I was trying to use from Sylvie’s book, so I discarded them. However, I also generally like to keep note of the cards I’ve “discarded” just in case, and they’re 2 Clover for the first one and 19 Tower for the last one on the line.

I immediately took note of the Scythe, and I’m fairly sure I know what it is too (possibly even with the Birds combo). I’m having a dental surgery the day after tomorrow where the entire bottom left side of my mouth would need to be cut open for an implant among other things. While I know the Scythe could mean a surgery, I think most people wouldn’t read the Scythe+Birds combo to be specifically surgery in the mouth but I actually think it kinda fits in an amusing way. The Birds, after all, does refer to verbal exchanges which has to do with the mouth in some way. Or if I look at it in another way, it could also be saying that after the surgery, I wouldn’t be able to talk because of the pain… which could very well also be the case.

Storks, on the other hand, I think may be talking about the changes I’ve been going through in the recent couple of weeks where I finally disconnected myself from a person who, I felt, had a really negative impact on me and my life. I’ve felt rather rejuvenated lately and have started getting back into a lot of things I love to do, including a deeper connection with metaphysical studies (maybe the Book). On a simpler note though, Storks+Book actually reminded me of my Lenormand deck and book arriving and me pursuing in the study of them. It might seem kind of simplistic to read it that way, but it fits too if you think of the Storks as something arriving at home and the Book as the secrets it brings along with it or perhaps even the book itself…

Update!

March 20, 2009: I had my surgery yesterday… and I can definitely say I haven’t been able to talk due to the pain, so that might actually be what Scythe+Birds was talking about after all. A different development could also be me hearing from a friend I hadn’t talked to in ages the day after the reading on the 18th. I received an email from my friend saying that he was moving overseas and relocating to my country. I wonder if that could be what Birds is referring to also?
