Deck: Housewives Tarot
I got The Housewives Tarot a few months ago but, for various reasons, haven’t had the chance to truly sit down and spend some time with them until today- which is a real shame because I absolutely love this deck. (I’ll put together another post to talk about the deck soon.) For now, though, it’s time for another one of my “new deck” intro reading. :D
I usually use a spread with specific position/question assignments for this type of reading, but I thought I’d keep it loose like the one I did to ask about my Lenormand journey. So! Just a general 3-card draw, asking how my relationship with the Housewives deck would be like:

The cards are 2 of Wands + King of Wands + 5 of Wands
I had to laugh the moment I took a good look at these three cards. Well, this deck definitely knows how to get right to the heart of the matter and in quite a practical sense too!
2 of Wands shows an indecisive-looking woman with four arms, holding onto a broom and a mop. Which one should I use? What should I do first? What should I focus on?
This is totally me at the moment, especially relating to cards. Right now, more than ever, I’ve got so many decks I want to use, study, or pay some attention to… and not to mention so many different systems I want to split my time between. Alas, there’s only so much time and just one of me. This was actually one of the main reasons it took me this long to “break out” my Housewives deck even though I’ve had it for a few months already, which is odd in itself because I usually jump into a deck the moment it arrives at my doorstep.
In the 5 of Wands, we see a woman busy dusting all these different appliances and looking like she might be a bit overwhelmed by it all. I immediately saw myself in that woman and my various decks of cards as those household appliances, all holding my attention while I try to maneuver between them. Competition of the cards! lol…
So with all those cards and decisions to make, what’s a girl got to do? Looks like the answer falls with the King of Wands, who got all creative and built his own multi-purpose wand! Who says only one broom or mop can be used at a time? This king went ahead and found a way to use not two but five different cleaning tools by combining them all. I was literally giggling when I saw this.
This sure was a quirky way to tell me what my relationship with this deck would be like. One thing seems clear though- the Housewives will be joining my reading decks, even if I’d be splitting my attention between yet another deck. But with the King of Wands being on top of his game at such ease, it’s an encouraging sign that I’d be able to find my own way of handling it all. And if all that wand energy is any indication, it looks like I’d be quite active in it too. :)
To finish up the spread, I added 2 more cards (something I often do for my tarot readings)... one from the top of the deck for Crowning and one from the bottom of the deck for Shadow. I got:

Crown: Ace of Wands
Shadow: 4 of Cups
This almost made me duck my head sheepishly. These two cards describe the overall picture quite perfectly, though I think I’m being reprimanded by my cards!
Ace of Wands here is showing all my energy and readiness to jump into my various cards and systems, regardless new or old. I’ve recently been rediscovering a lot of my decks and also becoming interested in yet more new ones. Just a few days ago, I took the plunge and ordered some decks (a few Lenormand and oracles). The 4 of Cups underneath is telling me “NO MORE!” though. :p
The card shows a woman being offered a huge glass of drink after already indulging in quite a few, and as tempting as it may be, she refuses it. Like that woman, I’ve been doing a bit of indulging myself… but I need to stop getting tempted into buying more decks for a good while. Even the King of Wands probably can’t wield several multi-headed wands nor would he be able to use them efficiently. Just like one drink too many would turn a good thing sour.
So, yes, message received loud and clear in this one!
