Rider = Atheletic Ex Again?

Deck: Blue Owl - Lenormand
Spread: General 3-Card Draw

My Saturdays start really early and is generally a very busy day for me, so I tend to pull my cards the night before…

cardcardcard
The cards are 18 Dog + 1 Rider + 23 Mice

Because the Rider popped up again today, my immediate thought was to recall the daily reading I just figured out. Is the Rider representing my ex again here? The Dog‘s description of being someone I’m friendly with (plus loyal, nice, and all that) makes me dubious about it though. The Mice appearing after the Rider might be talking about possible stress or annoyance tomorrow when I see him to pick up my DVD? In all honesty, my brain is probably feeling a bit muddled from wanting to reject the idea of the cards sticking my ex next to such a lovely and friendly card like the Dog. :p Something interesting to note might be the fact that “Dog” used to be a nickname I gave him (long story, inside joke), so maybe this is my cards’ way of telling me that “Yes, accept it. Rider is him and not news coming.” It’s worthwhile to note too that Sylvie’s book says the Dog sometimes appear simply to inform us that this is a person we already know. I’ll go with this last bit.

Okay, let’s give this a shot then. Say the Rider is my ex and being that I will see him tomorrow, the Dog is probably an identifier card here while Mice could be saying that the meeting would, at worst, cause me stress or anxiety, or at best be an annoyance. However, other systems seem to stress more on loss being a theme of the Mice card… so maybe this isn’t about the meeting itself, but instead about the DVD that he’s supposed to return to me tomorrow. Perhaps this is an indication that I won’t get my DVD tomorrow for whatever reason. Maybe he lost it? I hope that’s not the case…

Looking at it another way, if the Rider is not him… then this draw could be saying that I will receive stressful news (Rider+Mice) from a friend (Dog) or he’ll try to contact me but the message won’t get through somehow. Yet another way to read this is I will meet someone new (Dog+Rider) who will either exhibit a nervous quality or is going to cause me problems (Mice). One last interpretation might be a friend (Dog) will give me a ride (Rider) but something will go wrong with the mode of transportation (Mice). Eghs. I know I’m reading these 3 cards all over the place, but I’m hoping it’d be a good learning exercise to see this from as many perspectives as possible. Only tomorrow will tell if I hit any of them or if it turns out to be something else entirely!

Update!

@ 11:49PM: The verdict is in, and it seems I may have actually hit two of the interpretations. First, I dropped by my ex’s work place as planned… it wasn’t stressful (more indifferent) but the Mice was talking about my DVD after all because he didn’t have it! Apparently, he’s misplaced it even though he says it should be in his house somewhere and he’d look for it again and let me know. So in this case, we have Dog+Rider as an athletic man I know who is supposed to give me something today (Rider) but I won’t get it because he’s lost it (Mice).

As for the other possible relation- here’s a little back-story. I private tutor a few children on Saturdays. These children live around the same area and I house-hop and teach them one after another. However, 3 of my students live a bit too far from each other for me to be able to walk and still make it in time for my next class (about 25 minutes walk) so the parents are nice enough to drive me after class is over. Now, today, it just so happens that all of them could not drive me for one reason or another (one mother fractured her ankle and couldn’t drive, another has their car in the shop, etc.) I ended up having to dash up, down, and across the hills to all my classes in heels. What are the chances of all parents being unable to drive me today? If that’s not a loss of transportation on my part (Rider+Mice) from people I can usually depend on (Dog), I don’t know what is!

It might be good to note that Mice, in both instances, represented loss for me… though these losses also do cause me some form of stress one way or another as a result.
